Susie was born September 5th, 1956 in Hong Kong to Kit Chu and Yuet Yau Leung.
She married Albert Chou in June of 1983, whom she met in grade 13 in Canada and attended York University together. After graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration, she returned to Hong Kong and worked at a foreign bank for a few years until her first son was born.
For many years, Susie devoted her time to her family and to raising her two sons. This dedication played a critical role in shaping her sons’ personal and work ethics. When her children were young, Susie involved herself in various school related activities such as teaching Chinese school, volunteering at the school library and translating at parent-teacher nights.
Susie returned to the workforce in 2004. She loved her work at the Toronto Public Library, where she stayed for almost 20 years. Susie frequently tells funny and interesting anecdotes that happen at the library. Susie loved reading, playing piano and travelling.
Susie is survived by her husband Albert, her sons Jeffrey and Jason, her grandchildren Celine and Mason, her parents Kit and Yuet Yau and her younger siblings Tony, Elias and Steven.
A visitation for Susie will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes, 6191 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON M2M4K4.
