There was always lots of laughter whenever “Binger” was around! We spent many enjoyable years on the ball field with Steve on his permanent position at first base along with the likes of the preacher,  cricket, scoop, whitey, and many others . ( too old to remember any other ball handles) I always remember a backyard bash called the popper party at my place where Steve became invisible that night!
Rest in peace brother.

It is with sadness I heard of the passing of my ole teammate, #27 Binger .   So many good memories came to mind.  We were teammates for many years (more than fingers and toes) both on diamond and off.  He had a special talent , he was one of those players that could hit a triple and turn it into a single.  I loved to coach third only just to send him home, and he’d come into the dugout  gasping for air, asking “does anyone have cigarette”.  From league play to tourneys, to trips to the falls, a leader on our team, there was always time for a pop to replay the game.  Families were always a part of our team, and he was a big part of that. Quite often in the early years he would invite my family up to his trailer.  From ball to bowling and other team gatherings he was always there, those really were the good ole days.  He was nothing but a big ole teddy bear.

Binger, you maybe gone but the memories will last my lifetime.
