In the early 70s I went Starvin' Marvin's, a strip club that had been the Delta movie theatre in Hamilton. They had removed some of the seats to accommodate a walkway from the stage out into the audience. We took a front row seat.

Between acts the house comedian, Rummy came out, told a few jokes and introduced the next act. Rummy comes on stage with a few scrolls of paper. He says these posters will be given away free if somebody can repeat something he says. Now I feel a spotlight on me and Rummy sticks his mic under my nose saying "You sir, would you like to try?" My friend immediately moves as far away from me as possible. "Sure" I venture.

He says okay, just say what I say. "One smart fellow he felt smart" I respond "One smart fellow he smelt fart." The audience erupts in laughter, my friend slides out of his seat onto the floor as Rummy looks for his next victim. 

It remains a landmark in my life. Thanks Rummy

first met at your standup show at starvin marvins 1975 then at the cn tower 10 years later. You still remembered me. I was just thinking about you this morning (33yrs later) Sorry I can't shake your hand once more. R.I.P. 

We are so sorry to hear of Rummy's passing. He was a dear man with a true sense of humour. We have fond memories of him over the past 30 years and are so glad we have the personal photos and videos which have given us many laughs and stories to tell. We had a super time with Rummy when he visited us in Florida several years ago. Although we didn't see each other often over the years, he was always in our thoughts. Our deepest sympathy to Carole and his family.

Sara and Sherry, I am so sorry to learn your father passed. Please accept my condolences. I have many good memories of him from Willingboro and Atlantic City that have lasted to this day and thought of him as my Atlantic City Dad. Even though he didn't need to, he got me several jobs,  from my first real job at Tony's with Sam to the summer we drove ice cream trucks around Willow Grove. Please extend my condolences to those in Toronto who loved him. My thoughts are with him, Sam and Betty and you all.

His wit and humor couldn't be duplicated, and a smile that you never forget.  He will be missed by all.
