My dearest friend Uncle Mike,  you had the most kind and humble heart. 
We had many special  moments; we laughed, shared funny stories and look after the beautiful garden you have grown in the backyard of your home.  You always said I did things just like your Mom, my cooking for example. So, one of my greatest joy was to see how much you enjoyed eating the meals I cooked  for you. Those were the simplest things in life that made you happy.

Mike and Tom with Mike's favourite chair! I met Mike through work at the Parking Authority.  A good employee who was respected and liked by co-workers ,customers and even boss'.
After Mike retired, we would meet for coffee when I was working in Scarborough. I would often go into Timmy's and Mike would be talking to new friends he had met-usually speaking German or Hungarian.
in retirement, Mike, Karen and I would do breakfast, lunch and dinners. Mike knew most of the staff and would ask about their families.
At home, when visiting Mike ,neighbours would stop by to chat or exchange food and their kids would thank Mike for getting them a card or gift for special occasions.
Mike would speak often of family-Valerie and her family, other family  in the west or east or overseas. Mike knew all their birthdays and never forgot.
A good friend and neighbour and great family man who was loved by all!

Mike keeping an eye on his beautiful garden.  Collecting just the right plants and flowers at different stores and nurseries could take several days or sometimes weeks . Putting them in was a labour of love. Don't forget the dandelions and watering!

Mike and Carry joking around. Mike always had the best garden. Every year he would work hard with friends and neighbours to produce a wonderful garden which he would share with all.

Our deepest sympathy to Mike's family, in particular the Fritz family.  Mike was a lovely man who was a pleasure to spend time with.  His love for his sister Valerie and friendship with my mother Margarete made him even more endearing.  I went on a couple of casino outings with my mom, Valerie and Mike, and I can still see his smile and feel his joy for life.  Again, our most heartfelt condolences.

To longtime neighbour who cared deeply for his many nieces and nephews.  Michael was truly a gentle man.

It is with great sadness and joy that I say goodbye to Uncle Mike.  Sadness for those that will miss him, and joy because I know he is worshipping the Lord in Heaven.  Growing up across the street from Uncle Mike and Omi was a blessing and a joy.  A safe loving place.  Sitting on the porch with Omi and watching Uncle Mike tend the garden.  My birthday's coming up Uncle Mike.  You called me through the years to tell me my Birthday was is Mawch. (not a typo, that is how I use to pronounce it with a speech impediment in my childhood)  Even at 59 you still did that and it made you laugh everytime like it was a new joke.  Love you Uncle Mike.  Hug everyone for me.
