Nonna was the matriarch to our family. She filled our hearts and our stomachs every time we were with her. She had a lifelong love of baking and at every festive occasion she would slave over the oven to bake traditional cookies for all of us. 

She also had a love of gardening and every summer she would boast about her vegetable garden. She would often joke that her tomatoes were the best in the world – actually now that I think about it, I don’t think she was joking. 

Nonna loved spending time with her friends and would always lend a hand or an ear when in need. 

She had a fierce love for her family and especially for her grandchildren and great grandchildren – our love for her was equally as strong. We never held back telling her how much we loved her – to which she would often reply, I love you more.

She was firm in her faith and held true to her traditions.

Nonna was a force to be reckoned with – she suffered unbearable heartache when she lost our Nonno and more so when she lost our Uncles - she was broken but she kept going - we marveled over her strength and perseverance. 

She never forgot her roots – she often told us stories of the hardships she endured while growing up and we understood that this is what shaped her to be our pillar of strength.

Today our hearts are truly broken but full of immense love and great pride for we are truly blessed because we are the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of our beloved Nonna Mia.

Nonna, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and you will be missed beyond measure.

Dearest Marco,  sorry to hear of your Nonna’s passing.                                            My condolences to both you, your mom and the entire extended family.               Your Nonna was truly blessed to have lived  a long life and be surrounded by family.  Her legacy will live on in memories and stories you each have.  My deepest sympathies to you all.

Our heartfelt condolences go to every member of the family, especially to Franca and Rosetta whom we got to know quite well.  Maria was a wonderful person......she was caring, loving, generous and also funny.   We truly enjoyed her company last May and June when we came to Toronto to visit our family.   

She suffered a lot these past few years.......your suffering is over Maria.....You are up in Heaven with all your family members.  Pray for your loved ones here on earth......May you rest in peace......with all our love,  Francesco and Maria Darini.......Calabria, Italy.

 Although I never met Maria by reading these tributes I feel as though I knew her well .   It was with sincere condolences that I wish that you grieve easily and remember the good times with this amazing woman and keep her in your mind and heart  forever .

Our condolences to our family who has lost a beautiful woman...  my love and hugs go out to you all.  Zia Maria was a beautiful and funny woman, Paul said he will miss her lasagna ♥️

She was a beautiful soul that will be missed. So many wonderful memories. We are glad that she was able to meet and spend time with Stefano. Now she can tell Nonna Sposato all about him. We love you and miss you.
