Rosa was the youngest child born to her family on their family-owned farm. With rolling hills, expansive fields, and crystal clear mountain rivers as their backdrop she and her family made spirits, raised animals, and rolled tobacco leaves. While out in that beautiful landscape one day she met and fell in love with her husband Blagoja Grozdanovksi and they had 3 daughters together.
Rosa, her husband, and children moved from Bitola, Macedonia in the winter of 1969 to Toronto, Canada. Here, they both worked tirelessly to create a better future for their young family. Sadly, Blagoja passed away on August 4th, 1979, leaving Rosa widowed for the remainder of her life. Her love, respect, and care for her late husband was evident in all of the stories she would tell friends and family of their life together. Theirs was a beautiful love story.
Despite suffering great losses throughout her life, Rosa made it a point to live life to the fullest. She loved to dance and sing to all kinds of new and classic music. She would travel with her friends to tropical and exciting places, and would bring back wonderful treasures for everyone to enjoy. She loved to dress beautifully, in the richest of fabrics and colours, and loved to discover and wear the most elegant perfumes. Her love of exploration and decadence was also clear in her love of perfecting recipes. She will always be remembered in our family for making the world’s best maznik. She made the whole process look easy. She would mix her ingredients until they “looked right.” Then, when the time was “just right,” she would spin a handful of dough in her hands until it was the thickness of paper and as wide as the kitchen table. It was always a spectacle to behold.
Very few things, if any, ruffled Rosa's feathers. She was so consistently happy and humble; her family rarely remembers a day where she complained (about anything) or didn't have a smile on her face. She always came through with a soft word, an encouraging look or as a joyful cheerleader. She was so good at being a loving rock for her family, and that, will never be forgotten.
Rosa was predeceased by her beloved husband Blagoja.
