Jessie passed away peacefully at Toronto East General Hospital on a beautiful sunny day on August 25, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her husband Jack. Loving mother to Joanne, Jeffrey and his wife Marina and daughter Judy. Beloved nanny of Nicole, Adam, Amanda, Emma, Nicholas, Hayley and Tyler. Great-grandmother to Madelyne. Predeceased by her sisters Shirley and June and by her brother Herb. Jessie was a longtime employee of Bell Canada. Friends and relatives will be received at the GIFFEN-MACK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 2570 Danforth Ave., (at Main St. subway station), 416-698-3121, on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 for a memorial visitation from 2:30-3:30 p.m. with a memorial service to follow in the Giffen-Mack Chapel at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

God saw Jessie getting tired

When a cure was not to be.

So He wrapped His arms around her

And whispered “Come to Me”

In tears we saw Jessie sinking,

We watched her fade away.

Our hearts were truly broken,

She fought so hard to stay.

But when we saw Jessie sleeping,

Peacefully and free from pain,

We could not wish her back,

To suffer that again.

So keep your arms around Jessie, Lord,

And give her special care,

Make up for all she suffered,

That seemed to us unfair.

So many times we’ve needed her.

So many times we’ve cried.

If love could have saved her,

Jessie never would have died.
