Survived by her son Gary L. Roy of Fort Erie and his wife Marianne McMahon Roy, grandchildren Laura Sbai (Simo), Andrew Roy, Kathryn Palumbo (Sante) and sister Marie Pettie (nee Genovese) and sister-in-law Lorraine Smythe (nee Roy). Predeceased by her husband Gerald Arthur Roy and her sisters Mildred McKay, Lucille Guidolin, brothers John and James Genovese. She was much loved by her numerous nephews and nieces and will be missed by greatgrandchildren Marc Olivia and Luigi.
Jean was very active in the social life of St. Patrick’s Church Toronto and will be remembered fondly by both priests and parishioners for her indefatigable work with the homeless.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Garrison Place (Fort Erie) and the doctors and nurses of the Greater Niagara General Hospital for their care and compassion.
Jean will be resting at Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home 467 Sherbourne St. Toronto. Visitation 9-10:30 AM Saturday May 21,2022. Funeral mass in St. Patrick’s Church 131 McCaul St. Toronto at 11:00 AM and interment at Mount Hope Cemetery 305 Erskine Ave. Toronto.
