Dear Mary Kay and family, I was deeply saddened to hear from Miriam today Dec.27/13 of Hugh's passing. Hugh was the best man at my wedding in 1957. We rarely met and unfortunately I failed to keep in touch with him. Hugh was always keen to help wherever help was needed. His reward will be great. I served with Hugh on the HNMCS Board for the past several years. I always found him to be a gentleman who exuded a quiet and intelligent competence; a keen and witty sense of humor; and a passion and dedication for the work before him. I appreciated viewing the photo gallery that beautifully gave us a glimpse of his cherished family life. We all have lost a great man. My life has been enriched by knowing and working with Hugh.

To Mary Kay, Sean --I am so sad to hear about the loss of Hugh. He will be missed. He was a great supporter of RLC and helped greatly in getting us through some tough times. As a former Headmaster of the school - Hugh always had time to listen and give great advice. There are times I don't know what I would have done. No one and I mean no one could run a meeting like Hugh--deep thinker, great listener and then action -he could keep everyone on task. He was proud of his family and loved to travel. He also had a great sense of humour..He was very proud of Sean ( who I  taught)  and there were many conversations about you. Sue and I will say a prayer.
