Holly lost the fight with a particularly aggressive bone cancer in the palliative care unit of Michael Garron Hospital surrounded by son John, daughter in law Shannon, sister Janet, cousin David, close friend Judi, and Ray, her loving partner for the past six years. She also leaves four year old grandson, Logan.
Holly was born in Quebec, but spent most of her life in Toronto and Pickering, eventually moving to the borough of East York 20 years ago. She faced many challenges in her too short life but met each of them with a determination to successfully survive and thrive. She was particularly proud of her son John and the extremely close bond they developed over the years. Holly leaves many friends and acquaintances behind in Canada, the United States and the U.K. to deal with the suddenness of her death.
To all who knew her, Holly epitomized a caring and nurturing nature, with love and loyalty in abundance for all those she came into contact with in all walks of life. This was especially true over the past five years where she became a much-beloved active member of the Leaside Lawn Bowling Club.
There are no words adequate to convey the emptiness Holly’s passing leaves in the hearts of her family and friends. Their solace is their joy to have been enveloped in her brightness which has now, sadly, turn to shadow. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
