Harry Brian Smith was born on June 23, 1944, in Toronto, Ontario, and passed away on May 11, 2024, in Toronto at the age of 79. Harry, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Harry retired from Cimco Refrigeration after dedicating over 25 years to the company, where he honed his skills after working at various manufacturing and other companies. His passion for his work was evident in his commitment and dedication.
Outside of his career, Harry had a wide range of hobbies that brought him joy. He was an avid fan of golf, the Toronto Blue Jays, and Disney movies. He cherished spending time with his family, traveling, bird watching, and chatting with his neighbors. Harry was a handyman who enjoyed renovating the house and finding projects to work on, much to the amusement of his wife, June.
Harry's warm personality endeared him to many. He adored his family and especially enjoyed doting on his grandchildren, often playing Santa Claus for them and their friends. Harry had a special gift for connecting with people and could strike up a conversation with anyone, finding common ground effortlessly.
In his personal life, Harry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, June, his son Wayne (Heather), and his cherished grandchildren, Rowen, Liam, and Erik. He was predeceased by his parents and his daughter, Shellie-Anne Mildred.
The family will be receiving visitors at Giffen-Mack Trull Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON M4C1L3, on Friday, May 17th, from 5 pm to 7 pm, followed by a memorial service at 7 pm.
