Our condolences have been delayed because I am recovering from heart surgery.

Grant was always very welcoming at the Moorcroft Reunion picnics.  He often said he was lucky to have married a Moorcroft (Theda).  We agree!  Our families kept in touch at Christmas for many years.
As newcomers to Canada in 1972, Grant's kindness meant a lot us. He was a true gentleman.

The Linscott family passes on its condolences to the Eckert family. Our dad Jack and Grant were life long friends and Theda and Grant introduced our parents to each other for which the Linscott children are very grateful. On occasion as the children arrived the two families would get together for good times and lifelong memories. Grant wrote a lovely 4 page letter to my dad in late April speaking of Grant's life, his family and full of wit and humour. We enjoyed reading it to my dad, who passed away 10 days after Grant - the two amigos were off together on another adventure, we hope Theda and Gwen were ready for their arrival.

We are sharing in your sorrow at this sad time. When I was in high school in Sudbury, Grant often picked me up when I was hitch-hiking from Lively and drove me to town.  Later my family moved into the Eckert home at 3rd and Main in Lively.  Dale and I kept up our friendship with Theda and Grant as I followed in his footsteps from General Practice into Anesthesia.  Every Christmas we looked forward to a lengthy and beautifully handwritten letter from Grant, keeping us up to date on all of you, of whom he was so proud.  He was indeed a fine gentleman and will be missed!  With our Heartfelt Sympathy, Elwood and Dale Dunn, Sudbury.
