Glenn was born on March 20th, 1964 in Toronto, Ontario to the late Judith (nee Kelly) and Glenn Simms. He has joined his parents, his sister Belinda (David) Mullett, her daughter Amanda and his best friend, big brother & Irish twin, Scott, in heaven.
He is survived by his children, Ryan, Danielle & David (actual twins) and Kyle Vautour, and his beloved grandson, Chance. Also left to mourn are his brothers, Rory, Gerry (Terri), Mark and sisters, Londa Simms and Michelle (John) Ferreira as well as nieces, (Charmaine, Ashley, Carley, Savannah, Kenadie, Mackenzie) and nephews, (David Jr., Anthony, Paul Jr., Wyatt, Isiah), his uncles and aunt and numerous longtime friends.
Glenn was known for his love of rock and roll, a soundtrack that accompanied his life’s many adventures. This love was usually accompanied by his enthusiasm for playing cards - and he was known to try to convince his kids to join him in “just one more round” of crazy eights!
Glenn was rarely seen without his signature sunglasses, a symbol of his cool and unpretentious style. Whether the sun was shining or not, his shades were an essential part of who he was - a man who knew how to live in the moment and looked effortlessly cool doing so.
To commemorate Glenn’s incredible life and the memories we hold dear, the family invites friends to join them for Visitation at the Jerrett Funeral Home at 660 Kennedy Road in Scarborough from 12pm - 1pm on Thursday, February 13th. A service will follow on-site at 1pm.
We would be remiss to not mention that Glenn, like his brother Scott, loved the Maple Leafs, and they would often join one another to cheer on their team. Though we are heartbroken to lose Glenn, we are comforted to know that he and his big brother are reunited again, after such a short time apart. May they bring luck from the greatest seats in heaven.
Rest in peace, Glenn. You will always be our shades wearing, music loving, Leafs cheering, loving man who always was ready to share a laugh. We miss you beyond measure.
