Passed away at (The Jesuit Infirmary) Pickering, Ontario on January 21, 2012 in the 94th year of his life and in the 73rd year of his religious life. Born in Montreal, Quebec, on April 28, 1917 to Ernest Tyler and Anna Connolly. He entered the Society of Jesus on October 2, 1939 at Guelph, Ontario and was ordained a priest in Toronto on June 24, 1951. He worked at Saint Mary’s University High School in Halifax, St. Paul’s High School in Winnipeg and Brébeuf College School in Toronto. In 1969, he began a new career in the parish ministry at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Toronto, where he helped many people over the next 14 years. Later he served as pastor in Waubaushene, Ontario. His final years were spent with his Jesuit companions in Pickering. He will be missed by his sisters, Dorothy and Evelyn, his brother John and his many friends. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at St. Ignatius Chapel, Manresa: Jesuit Spiritual Renewal Centre, Liverpool Road North, Pickering, Ontario.
