Edwin was born in Cape Town, South Africa on January 11, 1938 and immigrated with his family to Canada in 1974. He was a devoted husband to Laura Solomon (nee Pearce), father to his children Donovan Solomon (Debra Solomon) and Tracy Solomon (Jonathan Link), and grandfather to Xavier Awadalla, and was much loved by family and friends in Canada and overseas. Extremely hard working and talented at his craft, he was proud to build with his own hands family homes in South Africa and in Canada. He was passionate about his work and continued to share his skills and knowledge right up to his final weeks. Edwin was well known and will be fondly remembered for his easy-going nature, generosity and fair mindedness. An ardent sports fan, he was perhaps his most animated when enjoying soccer, hockey, tennis and baseball, especially when watching his beloved Blue Jays. The loss of his steady presence leaves a huge gap but we will treasure the many wonderful memories we share with him for the rest of our lives.
