Carolyn was born in Calcutta, India in 1947 to Albert and Doreen Young. She immigrated to Canada in 1964 with her family and met the love of her life, John in 1967. The couple were married in 1969 and built a life together in Toronto.
She was a wonderful mother to her two children, Jennifer and Michael, and over the years, welcomed their partners (Philip and Phung) into the family.
Michael and Phung brought two beautiful grandchildren into her life and she loved being nana to Gabriel and Abigail.
For many years she contributed to the Ontario Public Service in a number of different roles. She was a positive and caring person, who will be lovingly remembered by the many lifelong friends she made at work and along the way.
Carolyn was passionate about reading and was a voracious reader of murder mystery and spy novels. She also loved cooking and tinkering with recipes to try new things.
She was so very loved by her family and will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made on Carolyn’s behalf to either the CNIB foster dog program or to the Sunnybrook Foundation:
