Carol Ball (née Simson), following a sudden re-occurrence of her cancer, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, December 20th. Predeceased by her parents Pete and Florrie Simson, Carol will be sadly missed by Doug, her dearly beloved husband of 47 years, her cherished children Laurie and Gord and their spouses Brad and Lisa, and her four adored grandchildren, Olivia, Lila, Casey and Emmett, with whom she had the opportunity to create many wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. Carol also leaves her sisters Sally Stoddart (John), Margaret Green; sisters-in-law Elaine Alguire (Richard), JoAnne Stock, as well as many loved nieces/nephews and their children.
Born and raised in Kitchener/Waterloo, Carol made her home in Toronto, but her favourite place to be was beautiful Kimberley Point in Muskoka where she enjoyed every summer with her family and many friends. Carol’s work life included Eaton’s in Human Resources, where she and Doug first met, and later as a Teacher Assistant (computer whiz) for Owen Public School. She was an avid tennis player, bridge partner, reader and tireless community volunteer, Carol was loved by all who were lucky enough to know her ready smile and the generous, caring and selfless spirit she brought to every occasion.
A service of Remembrance and burial will be held at St. John's York Mills Anglican Church (19 Don Ridge Drive, North York) on Wednesday December 30th at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Sick Kids Hospital or St. John’s Church would be greatly appreciated by the family. Should you wish, a page for expressions of condolence is available at Jerrett Funeral Home (www.jerrettfuneralhometoronto.ca)
