Anyone who met Nanny instantly felt like they were one of her own. She was a nurturer and a giver.  She was a social butterfly who lived life to the fullest!  There was no better Nanny than our Nanny Barbara. She was the strongest McEwen in the family yet delicate as a dove. She could cook up 30 lobsters and knit you a pair of socks. There was no end to her skills, talent and passion to give herself to others.  We could only be so lucky to call her our Nanny. 

Nanny, our love for you is forever.  We will always remember your lively spirit, warm smile and perfectly set hair and nails.  When we come across a Thierry Mugler Angel counter, see little trinkets you've given us throughout the years or when Christmas comes and we can't visit the most festive house in Brampton, we will always think of you. We will miss you dearly. Thank you for your sacrifices, sharing your stories and for loving all of us without judgement. You deserve the best seat in heaven!

Nanny - I will never forget the Christmas' spent at your house with all of the family together under one roof. You never let all of the chaos bother you one bit, you loved having everyone together. Those were great memories. You always lived life to its fullest, traveled often, laughed a lot, and enjoyed life. We can all only aspire to do the same. We will miss you.

Aunt Barb, I am so thankful to have had you in my life. As a child I always loved going to Aunt Barb and Uncle Keith's house on Pauline. As an adult I got to know how much of an amazing person you were. Although I did not have the privilege of knowing Barbara a long time , I did enjoy our conversation at family functions  and always found her a very pleasant person. The street in Goreski's Landing, Port Perry will not be the same without you Barb. You were the sweetest, most generous, giving, funny, caring,loving and kindness person I know. We had lots of laughs and chats around the fire, chats around the table or just sitting on the deck watching all our neighbours go by.  You and mom (Sandy) had lots of great trips out of the park to the casino (or as you would say....going to pick up some bread and milk at the store)  and always had time for Saturday or Sunday breakfasts out and about. You never stopped. You loved to go on your daily drives with Ron . Lots to see and do. We will miss you terribly.
