Dear Baba,

I will miss you and all that you have done for all of the family and even those who were not family members.

You were the original philanthropist in the family.  You were always involved in your family and community.  Your participation in so many community services showed your humanity for people.  Your love for cooking or baking whether it was for family or the needy was always from the heart.  I think you got the most joy from seeing someone enjoying your delicious food.  Some of the best deserts and food I have ever consumed and I am sure for many family members and community member would agree, came from you. 

My Mom  myself and siblings all had a passion to cook an bake and make food taste as amazing and delicious as yours did .  Something we must have all inherited from you.  

Your love for learning new hobbies, trades, leisure activities or business was amazing!  I believe once you made a decision  to take on a new educational course or task or adventure, there was no stopping you. From what my mom told me and what I saw from you, not only would you learn it, you would also master it too.

You were the only grandparent I ever knew and I will miss you greatly.

Yours was a life well lived. I will cherish the memories forever. I never forgot that you taught me how to ride a 2 wheel bike, or how you used to dress up as Santa Claus at Christmas. There were many great times I enjoyed with you.

To my baba:

I will always remember your laugh and how you took pleasure out of the simple things in life. You taught me how to garden, dance, and even how to walk on stilts! You taught me how to appreciate what we have and you also taught me the value of a dollar.. 

I will never forget the endless trips to your cottage, or jumping in your truck at 6pm on a Friday only to find out at 7pm we were on our way to Detroit. 

Your spontaneity and personality were one of a kind. There was noone else in the world like you

I can remember being left at a job when I was 15 years old and not sure if it was gonna work out.. It was about 30 minutes away from Innisfil- after a sleepless night in a very cold cabin without power and racoons and squirrels in it, I decided to high-tail it outta there- there I was.. scared, alone.. Riding my bike in the dead of night in Innisfil- Finally i got to your cottage at 1am.. Naturally you were not only there..and awake, you welcomed me in and drove me back to Toronto.. Bike in the cab and all.. Thank goodness you were there.. But that's part of what made you so special.. You always helped all around you.. Everytime. Nobody could be relied upon more than you baba. You were there for everyone.. We were so fortunate to have such a caring person in our lives.

I vividly remember you taking me square dancing, line dancing for several years.. I think back then I was too young to appreciate the time you were willing to spend with me.. And i'm sorry if I didn't show it more..

The ultimate experience was our two trips to sask to meet Martha, Joe, Violet and all the Wiwchars. I managed to see the house you were born in shortly before it was torn down.. Spending this time with you is something I will always treasure.

Lastly baba.. Nobody made me feel more important than you did. Everything from my cello, to gardening you promoted me and always encouraged me. I always had a good time with you.. This always* meant alot to me.. Whether it was Burlington Cres or 8th Line.. Or just in the truck with you.. I always seemed to be happy when I spent time with you.

I will not be complete without you baba. Rest In Peace. Xoxo
