It is with great sadness that we announce that Anne Adam passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, March 6, 2023 at age 93. Born in Motherwell, Scotland, Anne was raised primarily in Coventry, England where she and her whole family miraculously survived the horrific bombing of the city during the Second World War. After the war, Anne met and married her dashing soldier Stan and they decided to emigrate to Canada with their daughter Rysia in tow. They built a wonderful life together in Toronto and were together for almost 70 years until her beloved Stan passed away in 2016. Our fervent wish is that the two of them have reunited and are enjoying cocktails together in a better place. She will be sorely missed by only daughter Rysia and her husband Martyn. Anne is survived by family members in Canada as well as in Australia, England and Spain. We are grateful to the caring palliative team at the Odette Cancer Centre and so thankful for the home care team of Dr. Tedesco, Dr. Schneider and Nurse Leslie Randl who cared for Anne during her final days. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date for her friends and family to raise a glass or two to Anne and share remembrances of fun times they enjoyed with her.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.giffenmackdanforth.com for the Adam family.
