You changed so many lives sir. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me. I’ll always be in your debt. One of the greatest men I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. 

i remember andy playing hockey between our houses. boys on the street . always with a duffle bag. we were older than he and then that was enough to  be oblivious of younger brothers. it is a journey down chipstead rd and the maclean family.  it has been too long since i thought of those days . hope you are all well. 

This is from Susan who cared for Manden and Damon during their elementary school years.
Andy:  I have cared for the the children of some stellar dads and you were right at the top.  You always stayed for a little visit when you picked up the boys.  Through sickness and separation you were always kind (and on time!)
Liz:  You were a bright light in the boys' lives.  Tammy and I were grateful to hear you speak at Andy's memorial.  We remember you pulling up to the school on your motorcycle, having a visit and filling us in on your adventures.  The boys loved your energy, you were always so full of action.  Gramma in leathers!  A good lesson in diversity for us all.  
Bruss:  You know who you are to me! I've known you since you were three.  My sweetest memory of you?  Down at the beach wearing your UV onesy bathing suit, doing ten perfect pushups that you did every day with your dad.  Four years old.
Manden: Whenever I think of you the same thing comes to my mind.  You were the nicest boy I ever looked after.  My sweetest memory of you?  I asked you why your shins were so bruised.  You said the girls at school were kicking you.  They knew you were to nice to do anything about it!  But that's what I was there for, to watch you, help you, feed you and give your hockey shoulders a rub.  I feel like an old auntie to you boys and i will always to here for you.
Parveen:  So many years ago Andy brought you to my door to introduce us.  I remember seeing the sparkle in his eyes.  You both looked at me so happy and knowing that you had both found the love of your life.  Thank you for being so good to him.  He was such a special man.
Andy passed wonderful things to wonderful people.  He made it look easy.  We will always remember him for that.  Love, Susan 

Andy was truly a better friend to me then I was to him. He was that kind of guy who always gave generously of his time to others. As witnessed in his celebration of life last night, many others. He was a good friend and neighbour and we often shared similar philosophies on education, family and life. Andy passed as he lived; with courage and dignity. It hurts to know that he is here no longer, yet comforting to know we shared some time together. Love and peace to all his family.

Thank you my dear friend Andrew for sharing your time on this earth with me; I’m richer for it, and happy to say I was your friend. 
You are loved my friend... And Always will be remembered. Till we meet again. 

Andy will always be a person I cherish as a valued friend.  My introduction to Andy was at Don Mills Collegiate back in 1983.  He was such a welcoming person on my first day of classes and he accepted me right from the beginning as I transferred from another high school.  Our time in Mr. Thurlow's history class will be a fond lifetime memory.  In later years we socialized with other great friends from DMCI and I will always remember his engaging smile and funny laugh which was highly contagious and somewhat mischievous.  I am sadden to learn of his passing but am so much the better for having known him.  Rest in peace my friend and spread your joy among the stars for all of us to enjoy!

Andy was the best captain and teammate anyone could ever ask for .  He was kind and generous and would do anything for someone in need . I’m grateful to have known him . Love you Andy ! #19

Andy was an talented hockey player, teammate, captain, etc... but all of that takes a back seat because what made him who he was is that he was an incredible person.  Strong, confident, humble, friendly, the adjectives could go on forever.

I will never forget Mr. Mclean. I am 22 now & he is a teacher whose name I never forgot, never will & who stuck with me in more ways than one. He pushed me to excel when I didn’t know what I was capable of and always brought humour into the classroom of 8D.   

One prominent memory was when I had surgery.  He has asked what hospital it was being performed at - SickKids - & I thought nothing of it until he & his wife ended up at my bedside with a stuffed animal. He always thought of his students. And I will never forget him for helping me during my time of struggle.

You will truly be missed,
