Walter Wardenski, Sr. age 90 of Toms River died peacefully Sunday December 9th at home with his wife and children at his side. He was a truck driver for Anchor Motor Freight, Linden for 16 years before retiring from the New Jersey Department of Transportation. He was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, Berkeley Twp. and a former parishioner and usher at St. Pius R. C. Church, Forked River. Mr. Wardenski was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Forked River, the Polish American Clubs of Toms River and Manchester and VFW Post #10185, Berkeley Twp. He was an excellent and well known Polka Dancer. He was born and lived most of his life in Linden before moving to Lanoka Harbor in 1957 and to Toms River in 2005. He was predeceased by his 7 siblings. Surviving is his wife of 64 years Margaret Eigner Wardenski, his children Walter of Whiting, Margaret Horachek of Florida, Marilyn Graef of Brick and Gerry of Texas, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Visiting will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Rd. Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11:30 am Friday at St. Maximilian Kolbe R. C. Church, Berkeley Twp. Burial will follow at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
