Vera Glowa, 96, of Toms River, passed away at her home on Tuesday April 8, 2014. Born in Jersey City, she lived her entire life in Linden before moving to Toms River in 1985. Vera was owner of the company’s called Personnel Aids of NJ and Personnel Aids of NY for over 30 years retiring in 1982. She was a former parishioner and President of Ladies Sodality at St. Vladimir’s Church in Elizabeth. She was a parishioner at St. Stephen’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Toms River and was very involved with helping organize the construction of the original church center. She was also the founder and original president of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Stephen’s Ukrainian Catholic Church. Vera loved to travel and was an avid golfer with the Cedar Creek Ladies Golf Club.
Vera is survived by her loving sister Marie Glowa; her lifelong dear friend Anna Ogden; her cousin Maryann Ritter and her husband Mark and their three daughters, Pamela, Megan and Lauren.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday April 10th from 3 to 7 PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. Parastas will be held at 6:00 PM. A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday April 11th at St. Stephen’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1344 White Oak Bottom Road, Toms River, NJ 08753 at 10:00 AM.
