Thomas McGovern Jr.

Thomas McGovern, Jr., 43, passed away on December 07, surrounded by his family, after a long battle with brain cancer. His fearlessness, determination, and dedication to brain tumor research has been an inspiration to us all.

Tom was born on February 22, 1981, in Jersey City and the family moved to Toms River in 1988. After graduating from TRHSE in 1999, he studied at Lock Haven University and Keane University and earned his degree in psychology and sociology.

Tom is survived by his parents, Susan Basile McGovern and Thomas McGovern, Sr., his loving sister Allison Graziano, her husband Anthony Graziano and his beloved nephew Anthony. He is survived by many loving Aunts, Uncles, cousins and many, many friends who he considered family.

A memorial service for Thomas will be held Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755. A religious ceremony will occur Monday, December 16, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Saint Justin the Martyr Roman Catholic Church, 975 Fischer Blvd, Toms River, NJ 08753. A committal service will occur Monday, December 16, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at St Joseph's Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleums, 62 Cedar Grove Rd, Toms River, NJ 08753.
