Mr. Steve we were so lucky to have you at the Hoop. You were so much more than our custodian. You were a jokester, a dedicated worker, a listening ear and occasionally a grumpy old man. You took great pride in your job, our floors glistened like no others in the district.Most importantly the kids loved you “ Mr Steve” and we loved you too! You will be surely missed by all of us 💙

Steve was a great guy, known him for over forty years since Donna and my Brother Jim were married, idk how many decades ago.  Always treated me with respect was pleasant and a kind person to be around.  Like his parents Edie and Nick they were always fun and enjoyed pleasant times in their company.  I will surely miss him.   My warmest and deepest condolences to Donna and Gerri and all his friends and other family. Steve was also a great baker, I remember him always making delicious cookies around the holidays. Rest in Peace Steve.

Some of my earliest memories as a child were with my uncle Steve. My family and I would go down to his house in Seaside on weekends, where we would spend all day at the beach and they would take me to the boardwalk at night. It didn’t get better than that as a kid and uncle Steve was a big reason why it was so much fun. When I look back to nostalgic things from childhood , uncle Steve is always a prominent figure. 

My uncle never had children, however I feel that is something that benefitted both myself and my sister Kara, as it meant when we were together , he would always have plenty of time to spend with us.

Whether it was him pushing me on my sled 1000 times in a row as a small kid, to talking sports for hours on holidays as an adult  , I always looked  forward to any time I got to spend with my uncle Steve.  He was a genuinely kind person and the best  uncle and godfather.

I am grateful to have had him in my life growing up , and I will miss him immensely.

I will miss our chats Stevo. You held nothing back and always said what was on your mind, I think that is why we got along so good.  I know you loved when I gave it right back to you and boy did I give it to you.  You will always be in my thoughts.

Mr. Steve made great connections with the students. My son would look forward to talking sports with him each time he’d see him. Mr. Steve had a friendly way of razzing him about the 76ers and how his Boston Celtics were better.  Such good laughs we all had!
Mr. Steve was a genuinely caring person who would look forward to seeing my class when he dropped off supplies. He loved talking with the kids and hearing about what they were learning.
This is such a tremendous loss to our school community!

There was and never will be anyone like our "Mr. Steve." The Hoop was a better place because he was there. He was way more than a custodian, he was a friend who always made you laugh and who would give you the shirt off his back, no questions asked. Oh, how we will miss the kids cheering, "Mr. Steve, Mr. Steve!!!", and hearing his keys from a distance coming down the hallways. No one could and ever will shine a floor like he did. 
The Hoop will never be the same without you Mr. Steve. We love you and will miss you forever!!!

I am so sorry for the loss of such an incredible man Steven Firca.  I have had the pleasure of working with Steve at Hooper Avenue Elementary School.   Steve’s work ethic and compassion for his school was amazing.   He was loved by faculty, parents and especially the students.   Mr. Steve as students called him was incredible with all of the students.  He will be sorely missed by all.

So sorry to.hear this sad news..Steve and I would share movies that we have watched or should watch. Then we would swap our options of the movie. Bust each other all the time. I will miss him very much
