KAMINSKI, STELLA (nee Marchwinski) 106 years, of Toms River NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ. Born January 13, 1914 in Depew NY, she lived most of her life in Newark’s East Ward and graduated 8th grade from St Casmir’s Polish School attending many church processions. She was an avid church attendee and up until her passing, still financially supported the church. As a child, she wanted to become a nun, and if you knew her you would immediately identify that personality. She never had a mean or bad word about anyone. She retired from Western Electric in South Kearny NJ after 41 years then moved to Toms River NJ with her beloved daughter, Dorothy Rand 20 years ago.
Stella was a devoted wife and mother especially to her four children, Dorothy Rand, Stanley Kaminski, Carl Kaminski, Frances Davies (husband George Davies). She leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Theodore Kaminski, and five wonderful brothers. Her main focus was her family gatherings, especially Christmas Eve with all the Polish traditions and foods so all could be together. A family reunion was held in Stella’s honor for the last 20 years for family and friends at Monmouth Race Track and a horse race was named the Stella Kaminski Invitational.
She was so loved by family and friends, with a beautiful smile, the brightest, kindest eyes and a demeanor that made everyone love her. She will be missed dearly by all. Stella leaves us with so many great memories and showed us the caring, loving way to live.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 27, from 2pm to 6pm at Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd. Toms River, NJ. Funeral Mass at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 28 at St Maximilian Kolbe RC Church. Burial at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations to Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, Pa 18901 will be appreciated.
