Robert Talavera

Robert Talavera, 66, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 peacefully at his home. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, Robert had also lived in North Jersey, Puerto Rico and Las Vegas, NV prior to moving to Toms River 10 years ago. Robert worked as a Mechanic for a majority of his life and also worked at an Apartment Complex doing maintenance.

Robert enjoyed fishing, watching his NY Giants and was an avid Rolling Stones fan. When someone met Robert they received a friend for life. His easy going, caring, loving demeanor made it possible for everyone to love him. Robert most importantly enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, Eladio and Zoraida, his four siblings; Benjamin Talavera, Eladio “Negry” Talavera, Richard Talavera, Laura Talavera and his two sons, Robert “Noony” Talavera and John Talavera. He is survived by his loved and cherished soulmate Terry Langella, his five children; Joey Cavanagh, Michael Cavanagh, Michelle Butterfield, Angela Jackson and Robert “Bobby” Cavanagh. He is also survived his ten grandchildren; Isaiah Garcia, Francheska Soto, Marquese Jackson, D’Angelo Jackson, Lucio Butterfield, Sofia Butterfield, Robert Talavera, Gabriella Talavera, Brianna Cavanagh, Ariana Jackson and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River, NJ. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery is scheduled for Saturday, December 2, 2023 10:30 am at the Graveside.
