Born in Perth Amboy, he resided in Keasby for 13 years before moving back to Perth Amboy. He settled in Beachwood in 1973 with his family.
Skip graduated from St. Mary's High School in Perth Amboy in 1955. After graduation, he went on to honoraly serve our country in the US Army from 1959-1961.
He was a Police Officer with the Perth Amboy Police Department for 25 years. Before retiring in 1989, he proudly led the initiative to change the department's work schedule to the "four and four." A parishioner of St. Stephen Ukrainian Catholic Church, he was instrumental in the building of the new sanctuary and in the creation and management of the church's bingo. He was an avid fan of auto racing and enjoyed watching high school girls basketball. More than anything else, he was devoted to his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Skip absolutely adored his grandchildren who were the sparkle in his eye; his love and guidance were shared with each of them.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ramon and Anna; and his loving wife of 56 years, Luba.
Surviving are his daughters: RaeAnn Walker and her husband Donald, and Kimberly Robinson and her husband Jay; four grandchildren: Danny, Tori, Jack, and Annie; two brothers: Michael Bonczek and his wife Rena, and George Bonczek and his wife Mary; and his siblings-in-law: Christine, Sophie, Stasia, and Joseph.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 4-8PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 10AM at St. Stephen Ukrainian Catholic Church, Toms River. Interment will immediately follow at the Cemetery of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption, Perth Amboy.
