Gertrude Paula Boyer Rioux, 82, of Toms River, passed away Friday, November 20, 2015 peacefully while surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Elizabeth while summering in Beachwood before moving to Toms River.She graduated in 1955 from Gettysburg College and began a teaching career at first for one year during 1957 at Iwakuni Air Force Base in Japan, returning to teach science for 45 years, retiring in 2001. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She was active with the Toms River East PTA and Boosters Association. She was an avid bird watcher who enjoyed reading. She was a member of the Beachwood Yacht Club. Paula was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph Fenelon V. in 2000. Surviving are 3 sons, Joseph Fenelon VI and his wife Margaret of Midlothian, VA, Louis Rioux of Lacey Twp., and Timothy and his wife Martha Jean of Toms River and a daughter Michele Jones of Pemberton, 10 grandchildren, Heather, Morgan, Hannah, Joseph, James, Jonathan, Grace, Terry, Matthew, Daniel, and a great-granddaughter Savannah. Friends may call on Tuesday, from 6-9pm at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. Committal Services will be Wednesday at 11am from the Brig Gen Wm C Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown.
