Patricia M. Sweeney

Patricia M. “Tricia” Sweeney, 50, of Island Heights, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Born in the Bronx, NY, she grew up in Highland Lakes and lived in Toms River before moving to Island Heights. Tricia worked for Meridian Health Care as a LPN. She was a past member and corresponding secretary of the Ladies Auxiliary of Island Heights Yacht Club, and she volunteered with Downey Side Adoption Agency in Sea Girt.

She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mary Sweeney. Surviving are her brothers and their wives, Joseph and Maureen Sweeney of Highland Lakes, NJ, Michael and Annmarie Sweeney of Highland Lakes, NJ and John and Karen Sweeney of Chelmsford Essex, England; her sisters, Kathleen Ridings and her husband Rick of Nutley, NJ, Maryanne Sweeney of Toms River and Rosemary Sweeney and her husband Don Gant of Bass River, NJ; her friend John Cappuccino of Green Island; and many caring nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River. A funeral mass will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 751 Main Ave., Bay Head, NJ 08742. Cremation will be private.
