Mack Magers. Writer, artist, hill bomber and ambitious lover believed that nobody should transgress on the ideals and dreams of others, died on December 5, 2019 at the age of 24. Mack graduated from Toms River High School South, studied creative writing at Ocean County College and Co-Founded Grim Garden LLC. Services for Mack are on Wednesday, December 11th, from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m, at Anderson & Campbell, 703 Main Street, Toms River, New Jersey.
Mack was highly intelligent and loved talking to people, but especially his friends. He loved philosophy, especially that of Friedrich Nietzsche, who Mack often quoted: “There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness.” Mack had a great capacity for both reason and love, and a little bit of madness, too. He was Dionysian, the greek god he valued so much, and approached every moment of life with an energy rarely displayed by the average person.
Mack’s reach was further than you could imagine, and his love was endless and true. His loyalty was something you’d have to earn, and yet, if you’ve had the honor, you know how priceless his friendship was.
He is survived by his loving mother, Hope Gardner and her husband Raymond Gardner, father Kenneth Magers, sisters Jenna Domingo, Jordan Magers, Casey Gardner, Sophia Magers, brother Carson Gardner, grandparents Frank Applegate, Peggy Lynn, Gordon Lynn, Helen Barrett and many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
I look at this life I live
Thinking ohh what I wouldn’t give’
To go back
Back to the days,
Of testing skin to concrete.
Riding longboards with misplaced feet
