Lorenzo D’Aloisio, 84, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Lorenzo was born in Gibellina, Sicily and migrated to America at the age of 25. He lived in Queens, NY before moving his family to Toms River, NJ in 1986. He was a restauranteur first owning Gino’s Pizza in Manhattan, NY followed by Bon Appetit in Ellenville, NY and finished his career along with his wife and three sons owning and operating Lenny’s Pizza & Italian Grill in Lavallette, NJ and Park Pizza in Seaside Park, NJ. Lorenzo is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 54 years, Antonia, his sons Anthony and wife Maria, Benny and wife Elizabeth, Phil and wife Danielle, his loving grandchildren Sabrina, Victoria, Britney, Benny, Ava, Gia, Sophia and Lorenzo along with his sister Pasqua and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Filippa and his father Antonino, his brother Giovanni, and his brother in-law Nicolo. Lorenzo was a jovial man who loved life, family, his friends, and animals. Lorenzo, in his younger years, was an avid handball player, runner and he was an amazing chess player in New York. Lorenzo enjoyed the restaurant business as it brought him great pride to serve his customers and he made several lifelong friends there. In Lorenzo’s later years he became an avid golfer, loved working on his cars and relaxing at his home in Naples, FL with his wife, children, and grandchildren and often could be found painting portraits and landscapes of Italy. Lorenzo was loved by many and showed compassion to all. He will be greatly missed.
A visitation for Lorenzo will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A funeral mass will occur Friday, September 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church, 685 Hooper Ave., Toms River, NJ 08753. A committal service will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 65 Cedar Grove Rd., Toms River, NJ.
