Lois was born in Montclair, NJ, and raised in Verona, NJ. She married her beloved husband, Norman H. Butt, in 1953, and they had 50 wonderful years together before he died in 2004. Their cherished daughters also predeceased her. Linda Jean, wife of Douglas Amidon, died in 2009, and Doris Eileen, wife of James Werner, died in 2010. She was also predeceased by her parents Guy and Emma (Smith) Pisek and her sister Barbara (Pisek) Ward.
Lois was employed at the D.R. Wyble Agency in Verona before moving to Middletown, then to Berkeley Township.
She is survived by the joys of her life, her six grandchildren: Jason N. Amidon (Christina), Danielle Budden (Christopher), Kristen Michals (Christopher), Jennifer Grabner (Jeffrey), Amanda Maenza (Christopher), and Thomas Werner. She is also survived by her great grandchildren: Joshua, Emmalynn, Andrew, Matthew, Katelin, Jana, Jack, Doreen, and the future baby Michals.
Lois enjoyed vacationing with her family in Corolla, NC, attending Celtic Thunder concerts and meeting all the members with Jennifer and Amanda, going to "Duck Deli" with Tom, Sunday Brunch with Danielle, pizza and old movies with Kristen, and solving the world's problems with Jason. She also enjoyed breakfast at the beach with Doug, Oktoberfest and "WHAT" with Jim, classic movies with her nieces Laura Byrnes and Denise Ward, and "Senior Fridays" with her grandniece Gillian.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, from 10-11 am at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home in Toms River. A funeral service will begin promptly at 11 am. Internment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Middletown, NJ.
