Kenneth O. Brocklebank, 82, of Neptune, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family after fighting a good battle with cancer for the past 3 years. Born in Marlboro, he lived in Forked River before moving to Neptune in 1983. He served in the U.S. Army and in the National Guard for 10 years. Ken worked for Best Block in South Toms River as a truck driver for 25 years and then Clayton Block of Belmar as a supervisor for 20 years of dedicated employment before his retirement.
He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Edna Brocklebank; his brothers Thomas, Theodore and Harvey; his sisters Alice Burke Sprinkle, Virginia Tucker, Elizabeth McCutcheon and Margaret Burke; his first wife Elizabeth; and mother-in-law Gladys Burroughs. Surviving are his wife Mary J. Brocklebank and her children Teddy, Marylou and Tim; his step-children Diane Lingle and Charles Borden III; four brothers Charles and his wife Barbara, Donald and his wife Janice, Bruce and his wife Sally and John and his wife Betty; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec 18, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Toms River. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society in memory of Ken.
