Joseph E. Denker Sr., 94, of Berkeley Twp., NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, January 10, 2022. Born in West New York, NJ to the late William and AnnaMarie Denker, Joe grew up in Newark before relocating to the shore area in the 1960's. He was a Truck Driver for many years until retiring as a Maintenance Supervisor with Freehold Township Schools. Joe proudly served his country as a WWII Army Veteran.
Joe was an accomplished country music musician where he played with his band Joe Dee & the Top Hands. He was an animal lover and had a small farm in Farmingdale, NJ. He was an avid fisherman aboard his beloved boat the Josie II.
Joe was predeceased by his wife Josephine, his son John Denker, his grandson, Joseph E. Denker III, his siblings, William, Edward, Albert, Annmarie and Dolores. Also predeceased by his son in law James Nugent and daughter in law Jacqueline Denker. He is survived by his two children; Lorraine Nugent, Joseph Denker, his six grandchildren, Charlie (Tina), Brenda (Santo), Matt, Crissy, Kimberly and Chris. Joe is also survived by his eight great grandchildren, Kait (Tom), Taylor (JC), Ty, Sydney, Samantha, Marlee, Kai and Cruz and a host of loving nieces and nephews and his loving furry companion Marley.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 10 am to 12 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River, NJ, with funeral services to begin promptly at 12 pm. Interment will follow to St. Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River.
