Joseph E. Dec

Joseph E. Dec, 92, of Holiday City South in Berkeley Township, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at his home while surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Garfield, NJ, he was a lifelong resident there until moving to Berkeley Twp. 30 years ago. He worked as a security guard at Bendix Corp. in Teterboro, NJ, for 28 years retiring in 1986. Joe was an active member of the Holy Rosary Guard of Honor in Passaic, NJ. He also was an usher at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River, a volunteer of the Holiday City at Berkeley First Aid Squad, member of the Polish American Club of Toms River as well as a part time associate at Quinn-Hopping Funeral for many years.

Joe was predeceased by his wife Dorothy in 2003 and his daughter Donna in 2013. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Dec, of Toms River; his son, Joseph Dec and his wife Susanne of MI, and two grandsons, Jacob and Joey.

Visiting hours will be held from 12 to 5 PM on Wednesday November 9, 2016 at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755 where a funeral service will be celebrated at 4:30 PM.
