John E. “Jack” Caskey , 73, of the Holiday City Carefree section of Berkeley Township passed away on Tuesday October 29, 2019 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Newark, NJ, Jack lived in Union for over 35 years before moving to Holiday City 10 years ago. Jack worked as a sprinkler fitter for Local # 696 in Millburn, NJ, where he served for several years as president of the union. He was also a former member of the Knights of Columbus in Union.
Jack was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather and anyone who has had the privilege of spending time with him knows that he truly was one of a kind.
Jack was predeceased by his parents Mortimer and Marie Caskey, sisters Irene Edel and Marie Romeo, brother Donald Caskey and brothers-in-law Al Edel and Kenny Butera. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Rosanne Accardi Caskey, his daughter Andrea Slattery and her husband Michael and his daughter Jennifer Caskey and her wife Lisa Clarke; his brother Leroy Caskey and his wife Diane; his sister Janet Butera and his sister Karol Madden and her husband Brian and his granddaughters Hannah and Bridget Slattery. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews as well as his dearest friends, Linda and Howie.
Visitation will be held on Friday November 1, 2019 from 4 to 8 pm at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday November 2, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church. Cremation will be private.
