JoAnn Vehock,(née Murphy), 79 of Toms River, N.J, passed peacefully at her home on November 1st, while surrounded by her children and grandchildren. JoAnn was born in Newark, N.J and moved to Lyndhurst at age 10. She was a graduate of Lyndhurst H. S. Class of '57. JoAnn returned to live in the Ironbound section of Newark until moving to Toms River in 1975. She had a long working career which included the Ocean County prosecutors office and over 20 years in banking from which she retired in 2010.
JoAnn was pre-deceased in 2011 by her husband of 39 years, Emil "Moose" Vehock, her daughter Kathleen Roxas, her parents John and Ellen Murphy as well as 7 of her 8 siblings. JoAnn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her brother Frank Murphy, her daughters Christine Roxas, Jacquellyn Morales and husband Tony, Victoria Roxas and her partner Frank Faliveno, Jennifer Fortunato and husband Rick as well as her only son Jason Vehock. Her 11 grandchildren Jordan and Desiree Laurenzo, Mariah Mimoso, Christopher Vehock, Julian Thomas, Destinee Vehock, Antonio and Giovanni Morales ,Juliana Vehock, Marina and Ricky Fortunato. 4 great grand children,Shai and Kashen Garrett, Jordan "LJ" Laurenzo jr. and Maelle Shorter as well as many nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes cremation is private and there will be no funeral service. JoAnn was a long time supporter of Saint Jude's children's hospital, if you would like to honor her life and memory please contribute in her name.
