James Joseph Borsh, 54, of Toms River passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, in New Brunswick, NJ. Born in Passaic, James grew up in Garfield and lived in Clifton before moving to Toms River 34 years ago to start his family.
Jim was a devoted husband, who proposed to his wife, Eileen at just seventeen years old. He believed in true love and dedicated his heart to his family. In October they celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. Jim and Eileen shared a life together that was adored by all. True soulmates, who treasured their love and so greatly enjoyed their time spent together.
Together, they raised their three children, Christine, Jimmy and Brett. Jim was a hands on father who taught his children pride, resilience, and unconditional love. When, Jim became a PopPop to his granddaughter, Brielle his whole world lit up and he spoiled her endlessly. Being a father and grandfather was the greatest joy of his life.
Jim worked as a Project Manager Engineer for TDK for over 15 years. His career took him all over the world. He travelled from Germany to China and Austria, just to name a few. Every trip, he would bring back stories and special gifts for his family. His granddaughter, Brielle could not wait for him to return from a business trip, knowing he had a bag of goodies for her.
Jim beat to his own drum and enjoyed various hobbies. He enjoyed riding his Harley. The peace he found on the open road gave him tranquility.
Some of his favorite past-times included fishing and crabbing. He often fished with friends and family. Some of his favorite spots included Seaside Park, The Manatoloking Bridge and all over the Barnegat Bay.
Every Sunday, he rooted (or screamed at the TV) for the Eagles. One of his happiest days was finally seeing his team win the Super Bowl. He was an avid eBay seller and collector of baseball trading cards. He found all sorts of odd things interesting and loved collecting his treasures.
Friends and family will always remember Jim with a smile on his face. Relaxing in his man cave or on the deck. Cracking jokes, laughing with a Corona in one hand and a cigar in the other. His heavy metal playing and relaxing with his best friends, his dogs.
His friends and family will miss his wisdom, guidance and heart of gold.
James is survived by his loving wife, Eileen, of 35 years. Also surviving are his three children; Christine Gailey and her husband Josh, Jimmy and Brett; a granddaughter, Brielle; his parents, Ronald & Eleanor and by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Philip and Regina Simon. Jim is survived by countless friends and extended family.
