Born in Applebachsville, PA., Irma had grown up in the Bronx, NY. She also lived in Rockaway Beach and Long Island, NY, before moving to the Toms River area in 1980. Irma was an Office Administrator with Bell Labs in Manhattan before retiring in 1950.
Irma loved to share the memories and stories of her Latvian heritage passed down by her immigrant parents, Mathilde and Andrew and grandparents, Made and Karl. She will forever be our “Beautiful Latvian Princess".
Irma was predeceased by her beloved husband, James in 2015 and sister, Elise in 1988. She is survived by her loving children; son, James Brady (Sherry), daughters: Elizabeth Brady, Diane Phillips (Mel), Patricia Daly (Christopher) and Kathleen Brady. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Carolyn Crowe (Richard), Erin Litt (Matthew), Mary Ellen Trapold (James), James Brady (Leslie) and great-grandchildren, Max, Allison, Joseph, Emily, Nina, James, Anna and Sosie.
A Mass of Christian Celebration will be offered with family on Thursday, December 7, 2023 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s RC Church, Toms River with a private interment to follow at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to The ARC, Ocean County Chapter (arcocean.org) to support individuals with disabilities.
