Irene A. Kocienski

Irene A. Kocienski, 87, of Berkeley Twp., passed away on Wednesday March 16, 2016. She was a lifelong resident of Jersey City before moving to Toms River to reside with her sister Jane Liguori 23 years ago. Irene is retired from the Board of Chosen Freeholders in Jersey City.

Irene was predeceased by her husband Matthew Kocienski and her sister Jane Liguori. She is survived by her daughter Susan Walsh and her husband Kevin of Manchester; two sons, Matthew Kocienski and his wife Karen of Linden and Richard Kocienski and his wife Linda of East Rutherford; her brother Ralph Quaglia and his wife Carol of Edison; five grandchildren, Keith, Kimberly, Julia, Michael and Mykhia; 6 great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Kallie, Madison, Kayla, Kelis and Charlotte and also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday March 20, 2016 from 3 to 6 PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday March 21st at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s RC Church in Toms River. Cremation will be private.
