Gene P. Lynn

Gene was born in Beverly, NJ, on 2 June 1925 to Verne J. and Marion Van Kirk She married William A. Lynn on 22 September 1946. She graduated from Toms River High School, as a cheerleading squad member, in a graduating class consisting of only 12 students. She later enjoyed performing as a Drum Majorette for the American Legion Marching Band. An enthusiastic lover of music and dancing, Gene was famous for her Mummer's Strut dance performances with the Ocean County String Band from the band's inception in 1960 and on until 2010. She attended worship services at First United Methodist Church of Toms River.

Gene was preceded in death by her parents Verne James Van Kirk and Marion Austin, her sister Margorie Shinn and her husband William A. Lynn.

Gene is survived by her brother James Verne Van Kirk, her 7 children, Gordon (Peggy) Lynn, Dennis Lynn, Leslie (Vinny) Komar, Jackie (Walter, deceased) Smock, William Lynn Jr, Richard (Jamie) Lynn and Edward (Roxanne) Lynn; her 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way.

There will be a short graveside service on Monday, 4 October 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Toms River, N.J.
