Emil J. Smith

Emil J. Smith of Toms River, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022. He was born in Nanticoke, Pa. and resided in Brooklyn for many years before to moving to Toms River, NJ 27 years ago. Emil was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in WWII. He worked as an engineer at the Port Authority of NY/NJ. He has his pilot’s license and loved to build model remote control airplanes. He formerly belonged to the Floyd Bennett Field RC Plane Club in Brooklyn, NY and Ocean County RC Modelers Club in NJ.

Emil is survived by his loving wife Lillian; three daughters, Lois, Lorraine and Cathy; two sons-in-law, Marc and Joseph; and four grandchildren, Lianna, Lauren, Gianna and Joseph, who, along with other family and friends, will miss him dearly.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday November 23, 2022 from 10:00 am 12:30 PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755 where a funeral service will begin at 12:30 pm.
