Emil A. ‘Ray” Masciandaro, 88, of Toms River, passed away Sunday, Mar. 9, 2014 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Weehawken, he lived in North Bergen before retiring to Toms River in 1989. Emil was a veteran of the US Army having served in WW II. He was a data processing supervisor with Colgate-Palmolive Inc. in NYC for 30 years retiring in 1982. He was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, a member of the VFW Post 10185 and the American Legion Post 129. Emil was very active in Holiday City South having served as vice president of Recreation, vice-president of the Bocce Club as well as a member of the Men’s Club, Social Club and Single’s Club. Emil loved to play ping-pong.
Emil was predeceased by his wife Santa “Sadie” T. Masciandaro in 2010. He is survived by his daughter Geralyn Stier and her husband John “Rocky”, his grandchildren Nicholas and Rae Anna Stier; his brother Edward and Marie Masciandaro; his nephew Edward Jr. Masciandaro and his niece Anne Marie Masciandaro.
Visitation will be from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Thursday March 13th at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Friday March 14th at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. Wm. C.
