Elizabeth Perlman, age 61, of Toms River, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, surrounded by her family. Born in Manhattan NY, Liz lived in Lakewood before moving to Toms River in 1968.
Liz was a graduate of Toms River High School North and Monmouth University, Long Branch. While at Toms River High School North, she was known for her athleticism and was honored when she was inducted into Toms River Schools Athletic Hall of Fame for her tennis career. Liz could always be found on the tennis courts of the Toms River Country Club.
Liz was a great daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend who was selfless and always thought of others before herself.
She was predeceased by her parents Edward and Hadassah Berger. She is survived by her husband Dr. Barry Perlman; three sons: Joseph S. Perlman, Dr. Zachary K. Perlman and Jacob B. Perlman; her brothers Jonathan Z. Berger and his wife Sandra of Freehold and Daniel and his wife Julie of Toms River. She is also survived her nieces and nephews: Captain Jeremy S. Berger, Lt. Mitchell S. Berger, Samuel H. Berger, Alex B. Berger, Molly R. Berger, Rachel Perlman, Dylan Perlman and Jonathan Perlman.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 8, 2016, 12:00 PM at Congregation B’nai Israel, 1488 Old Freehold Rd. Toms River, NJ. Interment will follow at B’nai Israel Memorial Park, Toms River, NJ. Family and friends are invited to visit www.andersonandcampbell.com to leave tributes to her family.
