Edward J. Lindquist Sr., 81, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at his home. Born in Bayonne, NJ, Edward moved to Toms River in 1980. Edward was a Dispatcher for Ryerson Steel, NJ for many years before taking on the role as a Receiving Supervisor with the Toms River Board of Education until his retirement. Edward proudly served his country with the United States Army during Vietnam. Edward was a member of the Toms River Knights of Columbus and a past Firefighter with Lake Parsippany Fire Company.
Edward enjoyed fishing, the NY Yankees, NY Giants, coaching little league, teaching CCD, playing Santa for special needs groups and his St. Patrick's day shenanigans. Most importantly Edward loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Maryanne (Bucchieri), his two children; Karen Sofield and her husband Dominic, Edward Jr., and his wife Jennifer. Also surviving are his three adoring grandchildren; Taylor, Daniel and Samantha and his two siblings; his brother, James and sister Susan as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024 from 4-8 pm at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River. Interment will be on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 1:30 pm at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
