Diane Eileen Laux Carvalho, 71, of Berkeley Twp., NJ passed away Saturday, July 30th, at Fox Chase Cancer, in Philadelphia surrounded by her family. Diane passed away after a brave battle of cancer. She is now reunited with her parents, brother and other family members. Born in Rahway, NJ she lived in Rahway for 61 years before moving down the shore to Toms River 10 years ago. Diane attended Beauty school but went on to work in Customer Service and retired from the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation in Edison in 2012.
Diane’s utmost priority in life was her family. Everything she did centered around them at all times. She was a kind, gentle and loving person to everyone she touched in her life. Diane’s indomitable spirit encouraged her family and friends to persist in the face of many struggles. She was a person of great Faith and lived life serving others. Her sense of humor was undeniable and brightened everyone’s day with a smile. Her passion was working as a co-chair of the Silver Ridge Westerly Entertainment Committee. She touched many people’s lives and made them better with just her presence. Diane was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Diane is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Nelson, her daughter, Eileen Jacome, her granddaughter, Kelsey Jacome and many cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church at 130 St. Maximilian Lane in Toms River, NJ on Saturday, August 13th at 12:00pm. A Repast reception will follow the memorial.
Cremation was private and under the direction of Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Toms River.
