Daniel V. Repole

Daniel attended the Brooklyn Technical High School, graduating in 1941 and then went on to attend Julliard School of Music from 1948 until 1952. Daniel also attended and received his Bachelors (1954) and Master’s (1960) from Teachers College Columbia University.

Daniel had a very reputable teaching career which began in 1961 for Eramus Hall High School until 1963, Riverdale Country School for Boys from 1963 until 1967, George W. Wingate High School from 1968 until 1969, P.S. 114 from 1969 until 1970, and South Shore High School from 1970 until 1990. Daniel was also an Associate Professor of Music, Kingsborough Community College from 1970 to present. Daniel was a private teacher of brass instruments to students for over thirty years.

Aside from Daniels teaching career he was an accomplished Trombonist where he played with the Radio City Hall Orchestra for five years, with the Edwin Franko Goldman Band, The Band of America, the Bell Telephone Hour T.V. Show, and as an extra with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, The New York Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, the American Symphony Orchestra. Daniel toured and recorded with Les and Larry Elgart Orchestra and recorded twelve albums and another six albums with the Guy Lombardo Orchestra.

Daniels love of music also led him to be casted in recording Broadway Musicals such as the Sound of Music, Baker Street, Anya, Cabaret, The Rothschilds, See Saw, Mack and Mabel, Chicago and Nicholas Nickleby and performed with the following brass ensembles, The New York Brass Ensemble, Music Hall Brass Ensemble and the University Brass Ensemble, several years with Young Audiences.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 6, 2019 from 2-4 pm at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations to the Danny Repole Music Lesson Scholarship Fund.
