Daniel Joseph Olsen

October 24, 1948 - May 28, 2020

Daniel Joseph Olsen, age 71, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2020, surrounded by his wife and children. Danny was predeceased by his parents, Harold Olsen and Edna Mae Duff Olsen, his sisters, Margaret Angrosina, and Ednamae Olsen, and his nephews, Frank and Chris Angrosina. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Olsen; his daughter and son-in-law, Danielle Olsen Foran and Ken Foran; his daughter, Courtney Olsen; his son and future daughter-in-law, Charles Olsen and Emily Gialanella; and his beautiful grandchildren, Devyn, Reese, and Cooper whom he adored and loved so much. Danny is also survived by his brother, Harold Olsen; his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Thomas Lundberg; his sister and brother-in-law, Denise and Kenneth Shine; his aunt, Ida Duff; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and many wonderful friends. Danny was a detective for the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department for 25 years before retiring in 2002, and the proud President of the PBA Local 258. We find comfort knowing he is able to finally be at peace and return to the activities he enjoyed while healthy, like running marathons, reading books, playing rounds of golf, and eternally watching over his grandbabies. Due to circumstances, the immediate family will gather privately at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street in Toms River. Once restrictions are lifted, the family will hold a celebration of life at a later date to be announced.
