Claudia Josephine Kurtyka

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Claudia J. Kurtyka, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and friend, who left us on December 21, 2024, at the age of 95. Claudia was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and was known for her kindness, warmth, and infectious laughter. She was a devoted mother to her three children, and a loving wife of 65 years to her husband, Emil. She worked for the phone company early in her career, but her greatest joy came from being a stay-at-home mom, dedicating herself to raising her children with love.

Claudia’s love for her family was immeasurable. She often spoke fondly of her husband, Emil, and was always eager to share stories of her children, who were the light of her life. Claudia was the heart and soul of her family, always putting the needs of others before her own. She also loved to dance, and to bake and her signature Pineapple Cheesecake, became a family favorite and a highlight at every gathering.

Claudia is survived by her son Tom Kurtyka and his wife Gina, her grandchildren, TJ and James, and her daughter Linda Kurtyka.

Visitation and funeral service will be held to celebrate her life at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, December 26th, 10am-12pm. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Toms River. Condolences may be made to the family by visiting www.andersonandcampbell.com
